Brighton: One Town, Two Wars

November 4 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Join us for a video presentation from the Brighton Digital Archives, sharing the stories of young people from Brighton who served in the Great War and the Second World War.

No registration is required.

More from the BDA’s Facebook Page:

“When we found an old family album from the family of Gerald Thompson Mutton in the Bangay Collection, we were intrigued. The album, lovingly populated, chronicled the story of Gerald’s loss as an aircrew member during the Second World War. This inspired us to dig deeper, as so many members of our community have, to learn more about the young men and women who were willing to sacrifice everything for their hometown, for their country, for freedom around the world. We learned there were so many; we learned we couldn’t tell every story, but we could share vignettes and hopefully share a sense of that time and those feelings.
“We will present a 25-minute video and have displays throughout the Brighton Public Library, honouring those who stepped up to protect their friends, neighbours, family, and people they would never meet in places they had never heard of. We are grateful for the cooperation and support of the Royal Canadian Legion Brighton Branch 100.”
